Shandong Lepu Digital Printing has developed two proprietary biodegradable pouch structures: PLA-based composite pouches: Polylactic acid (PLA) is derived from renewable plant starch and is fully biodegradable without leaving behind microplastics. Flexible film composites maintain strength while breaking down naturally. Oxidative Biodegradable Composite Bags: These bags are made using additive technology and begin to degrade after exposure to sunlight to oxygen and UV light. Full biodegradation occurs within 3-5 years, returning the material to nature. Both bags offer clear and printed options comparable to traditional plastics, but with the added sustainability advantage of end-of-life biodegradability on land or sea. This protects ecosystems from harmful long-term debris.
Recommended for food packaging: Stand up pouches with or without zipper/valves/windows; Side gusseted bags; Flat bottom pouches; Tin-tie pouches, etc.
